How to Protect Yourself from Losing it All Gambling

There is no better rush then the one you get when you risk money and you win. The problem is that the rush is no less of an addictive drug then crack or heroin, the only difference is that this one is legal.

The problem is that most people win up chasing that rush until it becomes an obsession and eventually puts you in the poor house. Here I have come up with some simple to follow rules to help you avoid the dangers of gambling addiction.

The first and most important rule is to ONLY gamble for fun. If you are doing it for any other reason you are at risk of becoming a danger to yourself. Gambling is not a way to pay off debt. 3ven though some professionals so make a very good living gambling, chances are you are just going to wind up further in debt and the proud owner of a gambling addiction.

Try not to over do your time in the casinos. Play for a bit then take a break. By setting a limit on the time you will play at any one time you can help yourself. If you are losing sometimes what you need is some time away from the table. Just getting away for 15 or 20 minutes to go for a walk and get some fresh air can often have amazing results. I will often make plans for dinner or a show, this gives me a time to stop so that I can make it to the restaurant or theater in time and gets me out of the casino after a few hours, and even if I am winning ill leave. The key to going home with money in your pockets is to know when to get up and walk away.

A good way to make sure you do not spend more then you intended to is to leave your credit cards with your spouse or someone who you came to the casinos with, or you can leave them in the safe in your room. If you only bring the amount of cash that you are willing to lose in the casino you can not spend more. The trick is to make your self walk away when that money is over. Make sure when you go to the casino there are other things in the hotel or in the area that you can occupy yourself with once you have reached your limit.

Avoid gambling when you are in a bad mood. As I said at the beginning of this article, gambling is for fun, but do not use gambling in an attempt to bring you out from a bad mood. Chances are you are going to lose and this will probably intensify your poor mood and not improve it as you had intended. If you are in a bad mood, there are many things to do in a casino from sit in one of the casinos bars or you can try and dance your foul mood away in dance clubs that are becoming more and more popular in casinos around America.

The longer you sit gambling at any one time the less you will be able to concentrate on what you are doing and the more your brain will start to drift. This increases your chances of losing money, that had you been in the right frame of mind you may have won. Listening to the advice in this article will not only help you enjoy your time in a casino more but it will increase your chances of going home with some of the casinos money in your pockets and I bet that will add to the amount of fun you had on your trip to the casino.
