Keno is the new target in Archbishop Oscar Cruz battle against gambling. He intends to fights against the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office plan to operate keno games.
Cruz, who ran a campaign against the illegal numbers game jueteng, said that like in any other form of betting the gamblers, who are usually poor, end up losing, while the gambling operators end up collecting their big profits. The campaign against jueteng resulted in a short exile for the Presidents husband and son.
Keno is similar to bingo, with one exception; in keno the player cam select the numbers on his ticket. Keno cards contain up to 80 numbers. The winning numbers are announced in the same way as in bingo.
