Century Casinos from Colorado announced closing the casino resort project in South Africa agreement with the Akani Group.
Colorado based casino entertainment company Century Casinos announced selling its interest in the casino resort project in Gauteng, South Africa to the Akani Group. The agreement includes the selling of the 30 years management rights as well as the company license for the casino development.
According to the agreement, Century Casinos interest would be purchased by 5.7 million dollars by the Akani Group. The agreement is subject to the Gauteng Gambling Board approval.
Century Casinos CEO and President, Peter Hoetzinger, said that the company is pleased with the closing of the deal. He added that with the transaction the company will be able to develop its new casino in Newcastle, South Africa and the company new casino resort in Edmonton, Canada.
Century Casinos currently owns and operates the Womacks Casino and Hotel in Cripple Creek, Colorado and the Casino Millennium in the Marriott Hotel in Prague,
Czech Republic. The company also owns and operates through its subsidiary.
