The Las Vegas based casino resort developer company Las Vegas Sands announced Wednesday choosing Andrew R. Heyer to its board of directors. The 48 years old Heyer is a managing partner of Trimaran Capital Partners and a member of the Investment Committee of Trimaran Advisors.
Heyer used to serve as a vice chairperson at the CIBC World Markets and to co head the CIBC Argosy Merchant Banking Funds. Before joining CIBC World Markets in 1995, Heyer had founded and served as a managing director of The Argosy Group L.P. Mr. In addition, he servers in executive positions at Drexel Burnham Lambert Incorporated, Shearson, and American Express.
Heyer also serves on the boards of directors of several public and private companies including Hain Celestial Group, Niagara Corporation, ld Millennium Digital Media Holdings, Brite Media Group, and more. Heyer is also the chairperson of the Board of Overseers of the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Social Policy and Practice and a member of the University Of Pennsylvanias Board Of Trustees.
Las Vegas Sands is a one of the worlds biggest developers of casino resorts. The company owns The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino and the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. It also owns The Sands Macao in the Peoples Republic of China. Las Vegas Sands is currently working on two casino resorts projects in Las Vegas and in Macao. Both are expected to be open in 2007.
