Michael Wasserman proposal for building and operating casinos and state lottery across Arkansas was rejected on Friday.
Arkansas Attorney General Mike Beebe rejected for the second time a proposal to expand gambling in Arkansas. Michael Wasserman, a businessperson of Texas filed the proposal, which included casinos building and creating state lottery.
Wasserman, the owner of Arkansas Resorts and Hotels, applied for casino building and operating in several counties and a state lottery across Arkansas. The Arkansas counties included in the proposal were Boone, Crittenden, Garland, Jefferson, Miller, Pulaski and Sebastian.
The proposal was rejected by Arkansas Attorney General Mike Beebe office on Friday. According to Beebe, the proposal was rejected due to its ambiguous language. If Beebes office had approved the proposal, Wasserman would still have to collect voters signatures.
