A couple from Roberval is the sole winners of the Canadian lottery draw which was held on 22 April. Leo-Georges Otis and his wife Louiselle Harvey won 8,046,090 dollars. The couple is still surprised from their winning and they are only starting to plan how to spend the money.
Ms. Harvey and Mr. Otis found out about the over 8 million dollars winning by accidentally reading about it in the morning paper. They plan to share the prize with their two sons Francois and Pierre, who both live in Quebec City. Francois says he plans to use the money to buy a new house and Pierre plans to invest it in his business.
Ms. Harvey and Mr. Otis had bought the ticket in a convenience store on 354 Marcotte Boulevard in Roberval. The storeowner will get a commission of 1 percent of the total prize, which is 80,460 dollars. For the storeowner, it is the second time in a few years that he sells a winning lottery ticket. In 2002, he sold a ticket that gained its holders a prize of more than 9 million dollars.
