The state of Connecticut will receive more than 16 million dollars from the April slot revenues from Foxwoods Resort Casino, announced the Mashantucket Pequots on Monday.
The tribe, who are owners of the casino, delivered its monthly slot machine proceeds to the state Division on Special Revenues.
The net slot win for the month of April was 67.5 million, about 2.8 million less than the same quarter a year ago. The drop was no surprise to casino officials, who noted that Foxwoods is in the midst of creating a new poker room in a busy slot machine area, scheduled to open later this week.
Foxwoods president and CEO said that a small percentage of their slot machines weren't online and this caused the lower amount in slot machine revenues for the month of April.
The tribe also reported that, it contributed $16.9 million to state coffers from the April proceeds under the terms of its gaming compact with the state.
On average, 6,564 slot machines were in play each day during the month of April at Foxwoods.
