Harrahs Entertainment announced Tuesday that Charles L. Atwood has been selected vice chairman of the board of directors. Atwood has been serving as Harrahs chief financial officer during the last five years. Jonathan S. Halkyard will replace Atwood as chief financial officer.
Atwood new role will include supervision on company development, design and construction efforts. In addition, he will responsible for the company strategic sourcing, internal audit, enterprise risk management and security, surveillance and investigations. Halkyard will stay responsible on the company treasury, investor relations, planning and analysis. His new role as chief financial officer adds responsibility on the company accounting and business intelligence functions.
Gary Loveman, Harrahs chairman, chief executive officer and president said that the company is increasing its growth in international markets as well as in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. He added that Atwood and Halkyard are the most suitable persons for their jobs.
Harrahs Entertainment is one of the biggest provided of casino entertainment in the world. Harrahs currently owns or/and operates about 40 casinos in three countries, mainly under the brand names Harrahs, Caesars and Horseshoe.
