Iowa House Speaker and other legislators participated in a golf trip to Myrtle Beach organized by a casino lobbyist last weekend. At the same time, the state lawmakers planned to discuss the future of Lottery video machines in Iowa.
Four local lawmakers participated in the trip, which was organized by lobbyist Kimberly Haus, which Ameristar Casinos and other gaming companies are amongst his clients.
House Speaker Christopher Rants, a Republican from Sioux City, said they paid for the trip, which was seen as an annual spring getaway. The debate on whether to ban TouchPlay video lottery machines is scheduled to Tuesday.
