PartyPoker.net along with ELLE magazine is organizing an all-star ladies poker team to raise funds for the American Heart Association. 2005 WSOP champion and actress Jennifer Tilly is the leader of the ELLE Queens of Heart team.
ELLE Queens of Heart team features some of the best female poker players in the US including the actress Shannon Elizabeth, poker pros Anne Spinetti, Kristy Gazes, Jennifer Leigh, Karina Jett and more The team purpose is to raise funds for the American Heart Association and to increase the awareness of heart diseases.
The Ladies Event will take place at the Harrahs Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on July 9-10, 2006. The organizing are expecting the event to be the biggest ladies event in the history of poker, due to the growing popularity of the game amongst women players.
Actress and Queens of Heart team captain Jennifer Tilly said that playing for The American Heart Association means more to her. Jennifer Tilly is the winner of last years ladies event. Co-captain Lisa Tenner added that heart disease is the number one killer of women in America and that they hope to change this statistics by raising awareness to the disease and the ways to prevent it.
