The fast food tycoon McDonalds is launching the first Midnight Gaming Championship competition for video gamers from Dallas Forth Worth area. The video gaming event will begin on Saturday, September 23 until November 18, 2006 and it will be held at local McDonalds restaurants in Dallas Forth Worth area.
The Midnight Gaming Championship is produced by Video Gamers League, Moroch Partners and Affinity Sports and Entertainment Marketing. The competitors will be able to choose between playing three video games including NCAA Football 07, Guitar Hero and Tekken 5. The competition will be held in a single elimination format and t4The winner will be announced on November 18, 2006. The grand prizes include a special prize package sponsored by Best Buy, GameZnFlix, McDonalds and Red Octane.
According to Jerome Elenez, McDonalds Dallas area marketing director, the purpose of the Midnight Gaming Championship is provide their customers an opportunity to improve their video gaming skill, win cash and prizes and at the same time remind them that the McDonalds restaurants are open on midnights and sometimes even 24 hours a day. According to Pat Kempf, CEO of Moroch, the Midnight Gaming Championship will get together video gamers as well as late nighters in a fun and interactive way
