David Lancaster had joined the Silver Slipper Casino team as executive chef in an event that took place on Saturday. At the same occasion, a new fire truck grill was launched. The event was involved fundraising for Under the Oaks. The opening of Silver Slipper Casino was postponed to October 1, 2006. The casino is located instead of the Bayou Caddy site in Hancock County.
The Under the Oaks fundraising event took place at the Gulf Coast Symphonys Barbeque. John N. Ferrucci, COO and GM of Silver Slipper Casino said they plan to use the new fire truck grill at other charity events in Mississippi Gulf Coast and Louisiana.
Lancaster worked as a chef for the Delta Downs Race Track Casino and Hotel in Vinton, Louisiana. Before Delta casino, he was serving a chef in several casinos including Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Beau Rivage Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, and the Copa Casino in Gulfport, Mississippi.
