A company that was trying to bring about the creation of a casino in the California Valley have decided to stop trying to do it with the help of the Miwoki tribe. The company, Game Won even decided to stop all dealings with Los Banos officials and Merced County at least for the time being until they think of another option.
This decision followed several incidents that added to a sense of hostility between the two sides. Tribe members failed to come for a meeting between the government and the Bureau of Indian Affairs and also continued to meet with local groups outside of the formal meetings.
In response, tribe officials reinstated their desire to create a casino but said that they will seek other help to do it. Though this break is a setback, the tribe said that they will find other investors easily because the interest is high.
Game Won itself might also try and create their own casino with another tribe and they are currently finalizing how they will act in the future.
