In another case of good parenting, a woman from Siloam Springs was arrested after she left her 2 young kids at home according to police to spend some time at a nearby casino.
Authorities were called late at night to a home in Siloam Arkansas after receiving calls about a small child walking around a house in the middle of the night.
When the police arrived the 9 year old boy told the police that his mom had gone out to the casino and she had left him in charge of his 2 year old sister. Child protective services were called and came to take the kids away.
Police waited at the house for the mother to show up. When the mother eventually came home police told her that her kids had been taken away by the state and that she was under arrest on charges of child endangerment.
The mother broke down crying and told police that she had no money and only went to the casino to play a 5 dollar coupon she had to try and win some money to buy milk for her two children.
The kids will be placed in foster care until the mother is requested to appear in front of a child welfare judge to determine if she is fit enough to care for her kids.
Attempts to locate the children's father have so far been unsuccessful. If the 30 year old mother of 2 is determined to be unfit the children may go stay with a relative or remain in foster care until the mom can prove she is fit to take proper care of the kids.
