Korean Air plans to start nonstop flights to Las Vegas. Las Vegas is going through an image change from the world gambling capital to a center of international conferences.
Korean Air president Lee Jong-hee said the carriers experience with its Australia and New Zealand routes line taught the airlines that pure tourist destinations are less profitable than destinations that combine business and pleasure, such as Las Vegas for example.
Korean Air asked the Korean government to authorize four flights a week to Istanbul. The airlines also plan to sign an open-skies agreement with China that Korea during the next few years.
