Debora and Mike from
La California found the gaming world as a mutual passion after 17 years of marriage. The couple claimed they had no joint interest and were drifting apart. The game has become more then a hobby for them as they are on their way of becoming professional poker players due to all the time and efforts they invests in it. The couple has two sons at the ages of twelve and seven.
It all started when one night Debra entered Gambling Portal, where she found "the path to the gambling world". "I was not looking for it" Debora says "but I sure did find it". She claims she did not notice she has been playing for hours, when her husband Mike came to see what she is up to. Since that night, their interest in card games grew and especially in poker. Their interest became greater until a few weeks later; they decided to take professional lessons.
Mike and Debora studied the different strategies of the poker game, and they had played, in the last few months at several poker tournaments online. Their mutual dream is to play on the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
"We know we have a long way a head of us" says Mike "but we take this very seriously, both of us, but first we plan on going to Atlantic City for our next vacation in order to feel the atmosphere of a casino".
According to Debora and Mike they have tried, during the last 5 years of their marriage, to find a mutual interest, but they could not find anything they both liked, let alone loved. The lack of this mutual interest has made the distance between them greater. They say this new passion has helped their marriage where many other things have failed.
"We feel very fortunate to find something we both love to do alone as well as together" Debora says.
When asked how their sons react to their new hobby, they say they started a new family tradition where they play with their kids at least one day a week. Debora says "I know some may find it odd, but beside the fact that it brings us together as a family, it really develops strategy thinking for kids, just like other card games".
