A move made by the republicans to stop online gambling may wind up being their downfall.
The
Unlawful Internet Gambling Act was signed into law on Oct 13th by president George W Bush has probably taken away more votes from the Republicans then it has brought to them. This is due to the fact that many Americans either enjoy playing at online casinos and poker rooms or just feel that this is an unjust law.
Some members of the Heritage Foundation think that the new Online Gambling Ban will not affect the upcoming elections because it does not seem it has motivated those who have been angered by the new law to come out and vote or at least that is what some recent polls have shown.
Others are saying that because the republicans are taking a lot of heat over the war in Iraq and several other scandals that this is just one more thing that will be held against them as many Americans come out to vote.
"I've been a Republican loyal to the party for more then 30 years, and I'm quitting the party I once loved," said one man from San Francisco. He says it is not because of the Foley scandal or the governments Middle East policy, but because the Republicans want to stop him from the thing he enjoys most and that is playing Online Poker.
