Singapore government announced on Monday its intentions to ease rules governing the gaming companies bidding for the country first casino resort. The former rules made some of the companies to remove their bids and drop out of the competition.
The casino layout will not have to receive the regulatory approval. In addition, the bidding companies will not have to offer a limited number of gaming devices. Singapore government had also removed a plan to limit the casino working hours.
Singapore removed last year its ban on casinos. Harrahs Entertainment, MGM Mirage and the Australian Publishing and Broadcasting are bidding for the first casino resort in Singapore. The winning bidder would be required to pay the Singapore government 740 million US dollars land fee.
