Negreanu won the WSOP Circuit Championship that took place at Grand Casino Resorts in Tunica, Mississippi. The event attracted 241 players and offered a prize pot of 2,289,500 dollars. Negreanu, the 2004 Poker Player of the Year, took home 755,525 dollars. The WSOP Circuit Championship was his first major success in more than a year.
Negreanu writes a poker column published in 40 newspaper and read by million of poker fans all over the state. In an interview after his winning, he said his strategy was planned for each player. Knowing that he plays well after the flop, his purpose was to get to the most flops he can.
The final game of the tournament lasted only six hands. The tournament runner up is Bryant BK King of Spokane of Washington, who was having pair of kings with a 4 kicker, while Negreanu had pair of Kings with a 9 kicker. King won 416,690 dollars for coming second.
