While the UK is regulating online gambling, the US has banned it. Why is it being banned in the US?
Could it be the UK knows something the American Government does not?

The answer to this has to be yes, and what they know is that by regulating and allowing online gambling, there are billions to be made for the government in taxes, and it is better of being regulated then to allow it to be unchecked and fall into the hands of criminals.

This is exactly what is going to happen to the Americans. Americans are going to continue to gamble online, just like Americans still drank alcohol during prohibition, but they will be gambling in online casinos that may be helping to fund terrorism against us.

In an industry with no regulation everyone loses, except the criminals running the online casino, but with regulation you can have in place monitoring groups to make sure all money earned is reported and taxed, and at a time when the US armed forces are fighting a war on 2 fronts, 1.5 billion dollars a year in new tax monies can be very helpful.

It seems either the American government is afraid of something or they just do not care. They have said that the purpose of banning online gambling is to stop a rise in gambling addiction, that over the last 10 years of online gambling has not happened, and there is no evidence that indicates that a continuation of online gambling would cause a rise in the number of people with gambling problems.

Banning online gambling could cause a rise in those numbers. Online casinos are required to notify players of the dangers of gambling and to make number for gambling help resources available to them, but the smaller casinos located in the Caribbean islands are not going to follow these rules, why should they? They are already taking bets in a country that is illegal to do so, and if customers have problems there will be no one to protect them.

Popular opinion is that eventually the American government will see the errors of its ways and reverse this ridicules ban.
