Lehigh Valley is the location for one of the next corporate tackles as it comes to which company will be chosen by the State Regional Board as the one for setting up and then running the casino at the allocated space.
The front-runner seems to be Sands BethWorks as it has stated that they will spend an exorbitant amount in order to create such a structure that will bring in tourists from all over the country. The amount in mention is more than six hundred million dollars and that to only on the first portion or phase of this huge project.
And what about Competitors?
One of the other major contenders, Allentown, had proposed a lesser amount but they were planning that not on a single phase, but on the entire project. Care to guess which company has the better chance of winning?
Sands Proposal includes more than three thousand slots by the summer of two-thousand and eight and they expect to gradually increase that number of something like five thousand. This large number exceeds any of their competitors bids as well.
They intend to leave most of the broken down stell structures alone expect for the old Ore bridge which they plan to re-design as the entrance to their casino and the high house which they plan to redo. Another feature which they plan to light up is the old furnaces in order to add authenticity. They also intend to build a new structure that will house the casino, some shops and some dining establishements ranging from steak house to more fancy restaurants. As part of the next phase, Sands intends to convert some of the South Bethlehem structures into usable establishements such as shopping malls or entertainment places.
