The International Table Soccer Federation World Championships Finals tournament will take place at the St. Vincent Palazzeto dello Sport, Valle dAoste, Italy from November 3 until November 5, 2006. The event is expected to feature the top table soccer, also known as foosball, players from 40 countries.
Billy Pappas from the USA is currently ranked as the number one foosball player in the world. Frederico Collignon from Belgium, who has been outplaying in several tournaments recently, is a serious contestant for the title. Other outstanding competitors include Rob Atha from the UK, who currently ranked at number three, Terry Moore, Robert Mares and Dave Gummeson from the USA National Foosball Team; Djamal Allalou and Tim Ludwig from the German team and Olivier Covos from the French National Foosball Team.
In the women section of the International Table Soccer Federation World Championship the competition for the title is expected to take place between the world number one ranked foosball player, the Italian Samantha Di Paolo and the American multi time World Champion Cindy Head.
The Table Soccer Federation World Championships Finals is hosted by the president of the Italian Table Soccer Federation, Massimo Ragona. The event is sponsored by Casino de la Vallee, the Community of St. Vincen among others.
