The Fair Gaming Advocate for eCOGRA (eCommerce and Online Gambling Regulation and Assurance has presented a report on online casino and poker player disputes for the year 2005.
The report indicates that the level of complaints from players of online gambling sites holding eCOGRA Play It Safe seal of approval remains remarkably low in comparison to the total volume of the involved businesses, which are 66 major online casinos and poker rooms that form dominating part of online gambling industry.
In 2005 eCOGRA received the total of 439 complaints from online gamblers. 103 of these complaints were related to gambling sites that do not hold the eCOGRA Play It Safe seal of approval. eCOGRA does not have any authority over these sites and therefore could not resolve neither of these claims.
The remaining 336 complaints did fall under eCOGRA responsibility. 90% of the complaints were not valid. 70% were related to bonus and cash-in issues, which are subject to Terms and Conditions of each individual site. The complaints that were found valid were immediately resolved in the favor of the players.
eCOGRA proudly announced that over 95% of all disputes were dealt with within 48 hours.
