Caribbean Stud PokerThe casino table game Caribbean stud poker is similar to five card stud poker. Unlike standard poker games, you play against the house rather than against other players. Because of play like this there is no bluffing or other forms of deception in Caribbean stud poker. For these reasons, most poker players do not regard Caribbean stud poker to actually be a form of poker. These rules are typical of most U.S. casinos, but obviously the payouts and limits vary from casino to casino.
How to PlayCaribbean stud poker starts when each player places his ante on the table where indicated; all ante wagers must be placed prior to the dealer announcing No more bets. Next each player and the dealer will then receive 5 cards, face down. The dealer turns over one of his cards, then pushes the cards toward the players, after which the players may look at their cards. They may only look at their cards, and may not discuss their hands with the other players at the table. In Caribbean stud poker the players now have the option to play or fold their hands; if they wish to play, they place their bets (doubling their respective antes) in the bet box. If they choose to fold, they forfeit their ante. After all the players have made their decisions, the dealer reveals his hidden cards. The dealer only plays with an ace/king; he then compares his cards to the players cards, and the best poker hand wins. There are some major rules that must be observed at all times while playing Caribbean Stud Poker:
If a players cards beat the dealers cards during Caribbean stud poker, the player will receive even money (1-1) on the ante, and the following on his bet (with a maximum payout of 5,000 U.S. Dollars per hand on each wager on Caribbean stud poker):
In Caribbean stud poker if the dealer does not have at least ace/king, all bet wagers will be void, and players will receive even money on their ante bet only. If the dealer's cards beat a player's cards, the dealer collects both the ante and bet. |
